Hui Hvang Enterprise was established in 1989, initially operating as a distributor of CDs and cassettes. In 1991, Fantasia Music City was formed under the same group, marking the beginning of its journey in music production and promotion.
Fantasia Music City quickly gained market recognition, with cassette and CD releases achieving strong sales across Malaysia, as well as in Singapore and Brunei. Several albums reached sales of hundreds of thousands of units, positioning FMC alongside leading recording companies in the region.
In 1999, Fantasia Music City was officially rebranded as FMC Music Sdn. Bhd. The company expanded its portfolio beyond music production into telemovie production in VCD format, producing titles such as Demi, Helah, Prahara, Pelakon Popular, Wad 04, and Tiga Dara Pingitan.
FMC Music is also a member of the Recording Industry Association of Malaysia (RIM), a non-profit organisation representing the recording and distribution of music in Malaysia.
